ABOUT US

|
The Barkery Bistro is a family-owned business, located in beautiful downtown Greenville, at 118 North Main Street in Greenville, South Carolina. We are a pet boutique where you can find much of what a pet shop would have but so much more. In developing The Barkery Bistro, we wanted to have a fun place where pet owners could bring their four-leggeds for an outing, to have treats, select a toy, and learn about all natural dog and cat foods. One of our missions at The Barkery Bistro is community involvement. Our Yappy Hours are one way we work with local rescue shelters in helping to create awareness and facilitate adoptions. Bentley and Duncan, our two Golden Retrievers, welcome you and your four-leggeds to The Barkery Bistro.
The Barkery Bistro is an upscale pet boutique offering gourmet treats, toys, designer collars, leads, strollers, beds, fun fashions for your four-leggeds and numerous gift items that you would expect from a pet store. We are also pleased to offer five lines of all natural dog and cat foods. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you!

I have always wanted to have my own business and in January of 2008, I moved to Greenville, SC to open The Barkery Bistro. What an adventure to have one of my daughters as my partner.
Our love of animals, especially dogs, and our interest in nutrition led us to researching how, what and where we wanted to "open shop". Our skill sets complement one another. I had been a manager/buyer of a retail specialty store before graduating from law school and practicing law. Meghan has a degree in Communications and worked in the corporate offices of Ruth Chris Steak House. This is a wonderful and fun challenge...not for the weak of heart. I have a passion for what I am doing and am joyful that I have the opportunity to share this experience with my daughter, Meghan.

Upon graduating from college, I worked for Ruth Chris Steak House, in their corporate office. My four legged side kick, Belle, also referred to as Bebe or Snickerdoodle, had been with me since college, bringing so much joy to my life. Tragedy struck, as she got bone cancer at the beginning of her sixth year. It was this tragedy as well as my passion for animals, that awakened me to the need of doing better by my next four legged, Bentley. Somehow, I thought I could prevent Bentley, a fluffy wonder of golden fur, from contracting a disease that may be food related. I was learning more about nutrition for dogs when I added Duncan, another spirited Golden four legged, so Bentley could have a friend to hang out with while I was at work. My passion in having the opportunity to open The Barkery Bistro with my mom and to be a small part in educating others about nutrition, training and care of their four leggeds, brings much joy to me.......and in doing this, I celebrate Belle's life.
